The Senior Mechanical Engineer – Manufacturing is a technical leader responsible for driving the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems, components, and production processes. This role provides strategic engineering support across product lifecycle stages—from concept to production—while ensuring quality, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. The senior engineer mentors junior team members, leads cross-functional projects, and collaborates closely with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to support high-performance production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and validation of complex mechanical components, assemblies, jigs, and fixtures using CAD and simulation tools
Apply advanced engineering analysis (FEA, thermal, vibration, fatigue) to verify product robustness and process reliability
Drive DFM/DFA initiatives to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and simplify assembly processes
Resolve critical production and field issues through root cause analysis, corrective action, and redesign
Lead capital equipment upgrades and custom machine design for high-efficiency production
Collaborate with suppliers on advanced component development, material selection, and process qualification
Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, test reports, and process instructions
Mentor junior engineers and technicians, and provide technical leadership in design reviews and project execution
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements
Key Focus Areas:
Leadership in mechanical design and process optimization for manufacturing
Advanced simulation, validation, and root cause analysis
Design for manufacturability, quality, and cost effectiveness
Cross-functional project execution and supplier collaboration
