Job Title: Interior Mechanisms Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Interior Mechanisms Engineer to join our team. In this entry-level role, you will assist in the design, development, and testing of interior mechanical systems for a variety of products, ensuring their functionality, safety, and quality. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to contribute to the innovation and improvement of interior mechanisms, including door systems, seating mechanisms, and other key components. Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development Support: Assist in the design and development of interior mechanical components, including door latches, seat mechanisms, armrests, and other movable interior systems. Use CAD software to create models and technical drawings for new components or improvements.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support the creation of prototypes and assist in the testing and validation of interior mechanisms to ensure functionality, durability, and safety. Work with senior engineers to conduct performance tests and analyze results.
- Material Selection & Analysis: Assist in selecting materials for interior mechanisms, ensuring that they meet strength, durability, and cost requirements. Help with material testing and analysis to optimize component performance.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues related to interior mechanisms. Support senior engineers in identifying design flaws, suggesting modifications, and improving overall functionality.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure that interior mechanisms are properly integrated into final products and meet specifications.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of design changes, test results, and design processes. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress to senior engineers and other stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning & Improvement: Stay current with trends in interior mechanisms design and engineering best practices. Continuously develop technical skills through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all interior mechanism designs comply with safety standards and industry regulations. Follow established procedures to maintain high levels of quality and reliability.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in interior mechanisms or related industries. Internship or project experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and modeling mechanical components. Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and material properties.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assist in troubleshooting and solving mechanical issues.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with senior engineers, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders. Good written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail in both design work and testing processes to ensure the highest standards of quality and functionality.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team, taking direction from senior engineers and contributing to team objectives.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently, balancing multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced work environment.
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
- CAD certification or training (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
