Job Title: Interior Mechanisms Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Fresher Interior Mechanisms Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As a fresher in this role, you will assist in the design, analysis, and testing of interior mechanisms and systems within vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for new graduates with a passion for automotive engineering to gain hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines, including vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, structural engineering, and more. You will work closely with senior engineers to support the development of innovative vehicle features and contribute to the enhancement of overall vehicle performance, comfort, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vehicle Dynamics:

    • Assist in analyzing and optimizing vehicle handling, stability, and ride comfort through simulation and physical testing.
    • Contribute to the development of suspension systems, chassis components, and other mechanisms that influence vehicle dynamics.
    • Support the testing of interior mechanisms in real-world conditions, measuring impact on driving experience, ride quality, and passenger comfort.
  2. Powertrain Systems:

    • Contribute to the design and testing of powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.
    • Assist in optimizing powertrain systems for improved performance, fuel efficiency, and compliance with environmental standards.
    • Participate in evaluating the integration of interior systems with powertrain components, ensuring seamless interaction between power and interior features.
  3. Structural Engineering:

    • Assist in the design and testing of vehicle structures, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and durability standards.
    • Work on interior structural components such as seating, dashboard assemblies, and door mechanisms, ensuring they meet quality and safety requirements.
    • Participate in simulations and physical tests to validate structural integrity under various environmental and load conditions.
  4. Electronics & Electrical Systems:

    • Support the integration of electronic systems in the vehicle, including vehicle control systems, infotainment, and electrical power distribution.
    • Assist in the design and development of interior electrical components such as lighting, climate control, and user interfaces.
    • Participate in testing and validation of electronic systems to ensure proper functionality, reliability, and safety.
  5. Thermal Systems:

    • Assist in the development of thermal management systems, focusing on engine cooling, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, and cabin comfort.
    • Contribute to the design of thermal systems to ensure optimal temperature control and energy efficiency for both vehicle performance and passenger comfort.
    • Work with senior engineers to test and optimize the performance of interior thermal systems in various environmental conditions.
  6. Manufacturing & Assembly:

    • Participate in optimizing manufacturing processes and assembly techniques to improve efficiency and product quality.
    • Assist in the design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) to ensure that interior mechanisms are easy to produce, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
    • Support the development of assembly line processes and work closely with the production team to address any challenges during the manufacturing phase.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Vehicle Dynamics:

    • Assist in the analysis and optimization of vehicle handling, stability, and ride comfort through simulation tools and physical testing.
    • Collaborate with the testing team to evaluate the performance of interior components in relation to the vehicle’s overall dynamics.
  2. Powertrain Systems:

    • Contribute to the development and testing of powertrain components, ensuring their performance aligns with interior system integration.
    • Assist in designing components that integrate seamlessly with powertrain systems for optimal vehicle functionality.
  3. Structural Engineering:

    • Participate in the design and testing of vehicle structures for safety, performance, and durability, focusing on interior system integration.
    • Assist in evaluating the structural performance of interior components under various environmental and operational conditions.
  4. Electronics & Electrical Systems:

    • Support the integration of electrical and electronic systems, including vehicle control, infotainment systems, and electrical power distribution for interior features.
    • Assist in ensuring the interior mechanisms comply with the vehicle's overall electronic architecture and electrical standards.
  5. Thermal Systems:

    • Assist in the development and optimization of thermal management systems, particularly focusing on engine cooling, HVAC systems, and passenger comfort within the vehicle.
    • Contribute to the development of systems that enhance the performance and efficiency of thermal components in the interior space.
  6. Manufacturing & Assembly:

    • Support the optimization of manufacturing and assembly processes for interior mechanisms, ensuring efficiency and high-quality output.
    • Assist in the development of production techniques and technologies that minimize costs while maximizing product quality and reliability.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
    • Recent graduates or individuals with limited experience (0-1 year) are encouraged to apply.
  2. Technical Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, and thermal systems.
    • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD) for design and analysis.
    • Understanding of mechanical systems, interior mechanisms, and how they contribute to vehicle functionality.
    • Knowledge of basic thermal and electrical systems related to vehicle interior systems.
  3. Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex systems and come up with innovative solutions.
    • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior engineers, and suppliers.
    • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic engineering environment.
  4. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):

    • Certification or coursework in automotive systems, vehicle dynamics, or mechanical design is beneficial.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes or quality control standards in the automotive industry is a plus.
