We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, specification, installation, testing, and maintenance of field instrumentation and control systems. This role involves both project execution and operational support, ensuring instrumentation performance, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
Prepare and review instrumentation documents: datasheets, instrument index, I/O list, loop diagrams, wiring layouts, and hook-up drawings.
Assist in the selection of instruments based on process data and application requirements.
Ensure integration of instrumentation with PLC/DCS/ESD/F&G systems.
Support site installation, termination, and commissioning of instruments.
Participate in loop checking, functional testing, and troubleshooting during startup and shutdown phases.
Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to ensure timely execution.
Assist in the calibration of transmitters, switches, control valves, and analyzers.
Troubleshoot issues with signals, communication protocols (HART, Modbus), or faulty devices.
Ensure documentation and traceability of all maintenance activities.
Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance planning for instrumentation systems.
Monitor instrument performance and assist in reliability improvement initiatives.
Contribute to root cause analysis for instrument failures or process upsets.
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ISA, IEC, API).
Support safety instrumented system (SIS) compliance and participate in SIL reviews if applicable.
Follow all safety protocols and support HSE teams during audits and inspections.
Review technical offers and coordinate with vendors for instrument selection and delivery.
Participate in FAT/SAT for control systems or complex instrumentation packages.
Validate as-built documentation from vendors and contractors.
Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control schematics.
Hands-on experience with instrumentation hardware, signal types, and control logic.
Working knowledge of control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA) and industrial communication protocols.
Good organizational, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Familiarity with tools like SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), AutoCAD, and CMMS.
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
3–7 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, maintenance, or project execution.
Exposure to industrial sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power, water, or manufacturing.
Certification in instrumentation or safety systems (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety) is a plus.
