Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Instrumentation Engineer supports the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instruments and control systems. The role includes assisting senior engineers in executing projects, preparing documentation, and ensuring instrumentation meets operational and safety standards.


Key Focus Areas & Responsibilities:

1. Instrument Installation & Support

  • Assist in installing instruments such as transmitters, sensors, switches, and control valves.

  • Support loop checking, wiring verification, and panel termination during project execution.

  • Learn and follow industry standards for instrument mounting, cabling, and signal routing.

2. Calibration & Testing

  • Support calibration of field instruments under the supervision of senior technicians/engineers.

  • Learn to use test tools like multimeters, calibrators, and HART communicators.

  • Help verify instrument functionality and record results as per QA/QC procedures.

3. Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Assist in diagnosing issues with instrumentation or control loops under guidance.

  • Document basic issues found and corrective actions taken during preventive maintenance.

  • Learn safe maintenance practices and procedures (e.g., LOTO, PTW).

4. Documentation & Drawings

  • Assist in updating instrument index, data sheets, loop diagrams, and wiring drawings.

  • Help maintain instrument records, calibration logs, and equipment history.

  • Support data entry into CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.

5. Learning & Development

  • Participate in on-the-job training programs, toolbox talks, and safety sessions.

  • Learn about standards such as ISA, IEC, API, or site-specific engineering practices.

  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop technical knowledge and field exposure.

6. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety rules, use proper PPE, and comply with plant HSE procedures.

  • Report unsafe conditions or instrument anomalies to supervisors.

  • Support environmental and safety audits related to instrumentation systems.


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of measurement principles (pressure, flow, level, temperature).

  • Familiarity with instrumentation symbols, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.

  • Eagerness to learn and grow technical and field-based competencies.

  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic proficiency with MS Office and engineering software (AutoCAD, Excel).


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.

  • 0–3 years of experience in instrumentation, control systems, or maintenance.

  • Internship or project experience in industrial settings is an added advantage.

  • Willingness to work in field/plant environments and rotational shifts if required.
