Job Summary:

The Junior Instrument Installation Technician assists in the physical installation of instrumentation systems, including cable trays, tubing, and supports. This role provides hands-on support for routing, fixing, and preparing instrumentation infrastructure under the supervision of senior technicians or supervisors. It is ideal for individuals beginning their career in industrial instrumentation works.


Key Focus Areas:

  • Cable Tray Support – Assist with measuring, aligning, cutting, and fixing cable trays used for routing instrument cables.

  • Tubing Installation – Support installation of stainless steel or copper tubing for pressure, impulse, and pneumatic lines.

  • Tool Handling & Material Preparation – Learn to use basic hand tools, tube benders, and support hardware.

  • Work Area Safety – Follow proper PPE usage, site safety guidelines, and report hazards to supervisors.

  • Documentation & Tagging – Help with tagging installed items and marking layouts as per installation drawings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in installation of instrument cable trays, brackets, and supports at ground level and elevated areas.

  • Support bending and routing of tubing to connect instruments to process lines and manifolds.

  • Load, unload, and prepare materials such as trays, tubing, fittings, and mounting accessories.

  • Learn to interpret simple layout drawings and follow routing instructions from supervisors.

  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools are cleaned and stored properly.

  • Comply with safety procedures and support housekeeping during and after installation work.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or ITI certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Trades.

  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, electrical, or instrumentation installation work.

  • Basic understanding of industrial piping or electrical systems is a plus.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Willingness to learn industrial installation techniques.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
