Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The I&C Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems within plant operations. This role supervises a team of technicians, ensuring reliable and safe control of plant processes while supporting production goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of I&C technicians in plant operations.

  • Monitor and maintain instrumentation systems, including PLCs, DCS, sensors, control valves, and safety interlocks.

  • Lead troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation and control system faults to minimize downtime.

  • Plan and oversee preventive maintenance and calibration of instrumentation equipment.

  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on system improvements and projects.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

  • Maintain detailed documentation and records of maintenance, incidents, and system performance.

  • Train and mentor technicians and operators on instrumentation systems and safety protocols.


Key Focus Areas:

  1. Team Leadership:
    Manage and develop a skilled team of I&C technicians to ensure operational excellence.

  2. System Operation & Maintenance:
    Ensure reliable and accurate performance of instrumentation and control systems.

  3. Troubleshooting & Fault Resolution:
    Lead prompt diagnosis and resolution of instrumentation issues impacting plant processes.

  4. Safety & Compliance:
    Enforce strict adherence to safety and quality standards within the plant.

  5. Collaboration:
    Work closely with other departments to support seamless plant operations.

  6. Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records for audits, maintenance, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 4-7 years of experience in instrumentation and control in plant or process operations.

  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, DCS, sensors, control valves, and industrial automation systems.

  • Proven supervisory and team management skills.

  • Effective troubleshooting and communication abilities.

  • Understanding of safety and regulatory compliance in plant environments.
