The I&C (Instrumentation & Control) Project Manager – Desalination and Wastewater Projects is responsible for planning, executing, and managing all I&C-related activities across complex desalination and wastewater treatment projects. This role ensures seamless integration of automation systems, effective instrumentation design, and successful commissioning while maintaining compliance with project specifications, timelines, budgets, and industry standards.
Project Planning & Execution:
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all instrumentation and control works across desalination and wastewater projects.
System Design Oversight:
Review and approve design documents for SCADA, PLC, DCS, field instrumentation, and control panels to meet functional and process requirements.
Procurement & Vendor Management:
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for the procurement, inspection, and delivery of I&C equipment and services.
Integration & Commissioning:
Supervise system integration, loop testing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning of all control systems in alignment with project milestones.
Budget & Timeline Management:
Monitor project progress, control I&C-related costs, and ensure timely delivery in accordance with contractual obligations.
Team Coordination:
Lead multidisciplinary teams including I&C engineers, control system specialists, and external contractors.
Regulatory & QA/QC Compliance:
Ensure all works are executed in compliance with local regulations, international standards (ISA, IEC, etc.), and QA/QC protocols.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary I&C interface between clients, consultants, project partners, and internal departments.
Risk Mitigation:
Identify project risks related to I&C scope and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Control Systems Engineering
10+ years of experience in I&C project management within desalination, wastewater, or large-scale water infrastructure projects
Deep knowledge of SCADA, PLC, DCS, instrumentation calibration, and process control
Proven experience in EPC or design-build project environments
PMP or equivalent project management certification is an advantage
Strong leadership and project execution skills
Expertise in water process automation and control logic
Effective stakeholder communication and coordination
Familiarity with industry standards (ISA, IEC, ISO) and environmental regulations
Proficiency in project planning tools (Primavera, MS Project, etc.)
