The Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Manager – Water Treatment Plant is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of instrumentation and control systems throughout the plant. This role ensures reliable process monitoring, accurate measurement, and automation of key treatment operations, while maintaining strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The manager also leads a technical team in supporting plant operations through effective control system strategies.
System Management:
Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS) and field instrumentation across all treatment units.
Process Optimization:
Ensure accurate measurement, monitoring, and control of process variables such as flow, pressure, level, pH, chlorine, turbidity, and conductivity.
Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all instrumentation and control systems to minimize downtime.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor I&C engineers and technicians, assigning tasks, managing performance, and supporting skills development.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Lead diagnostics and resolution of instrumentation, control, and automation faults to ensure continuous plant operations.
System Upgrades:
Plan and execute control system upgrades or retrofits, ensuring integration with existing plant operations and minimal disruption.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain system documentation, calibration records, and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ISA, local regulations).
Vendor Coordination:
Liaise with equipment suppliers, contractors, and automation specialists for system components, commissioning, and service contracts.
Safety & Training:
Enforce safety protocols in I&C work activities and conduct training for operational staff on new control systems and instrumentation.
