The Senior I&C Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing the commissioning activities of all instrumentation and control systems. This role ensures that I&C systems are tested, configured, and validated according to project specifications and industry standards, leading to a safe and successful plant start-up. The supervisor will coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of control systems.
Develop and review commissioning procedures, method statements, and system turnover packages for I&C systems.
Prepare pre-commissioning and commissioning plans aligned with project schedules.
Supervise loop checks, functional tests, SATs, and interlock verifications.
Lead the commissioning team of I&C technicians, engineers, and subcontractors.
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and process commissioning teams to ensure system readiness.
Oversee calibration, installation verification, and functional testing of field instruments, control valves, PLCs, and DCS systems.
Coordinate with vendors/OEMs during FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), SATs (Site Acceptance Tests), and system tuning.
Interface with client and QA/QC teams to address punch list items and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Support operations teams during plant handover and start-up phases.
Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with safety protocols and permit-to-work systems.
Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and enforce LOTO procedures during commissioning.
Ensure all documentation is in compliance with ISO, IEC, or project-specific quality standards.
Maintain and submit detailed commissioning records including checklists, loop folders, test results, redline drawings, and as-built documentation.
Prepare daily, weekly, and final commissioning reports for project management and clients.
Monitor progress against milestones and flag delays or issues proactively.
Ensure integration between instrumentation, PLC, DCS, SCADA, and safety systems (SIS, ESD).
Validate control logic, interlocks, and alarms as per design and operational requirements.
Participate in final performance testing and handover of systems to operations.
Expertise in instrumentation, automation, and control systems commissioning.
Hands-on experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Yokogawa, Honeywell).
Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and planning skills.
Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, control logic diagrams, loop drawings, and cause & effect matrices.
Ability to manage cross-discipline coordination under pressure in a commissioning environment.
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
10–15 years of experience in I&C commissioning, including at least 3–5 years in a senior supervisory role.
Experience in large EPC or industrial projects (power, oil & gas, chemicals, etc.).
Certification in instrumentation or automation (ISA, TÜV, etc.) is an added advantage.
Familiarity with commissioning tools and software (SmartPlant, CMS, LoopPro, etc.).
