The Mid-Level I&C Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and executing the commissioning activities of instrumentation and control systems at the site. The role involves supervising I&C technicians and subcontractors, performing loop and functional testing, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and supporting a smooth transition from construction to operation.
Supervise the execution of loop checks, functional tests, interlock verifications, and system start-up.
Monitor progress and ensure commissioning activities are conducted per project schedules and procedures.
Perform calibration and configuration of field instruments and control devices.
Lead a team of I&C technicians, ensuring quality and safety in all field activities.
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, process, and DCS teams for cross-functional commissioning.
Liaise with construction and QA/QC teams for system handover and punch list clearance.
Assist in performing Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), logic verification, and alarm testing for DCS/PLC systems.
Troubleshoot signal issues, instrument malfunctions, and control loop inconsistencies.
Ensure accurate documentation of test results, as-built drawings, and commissioning logs.
Maintain commissioning checklists, calibration records, loop folders, and redline drawings.
Ensure that I&C commissioning is done in compliance with safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Support the preparation of handover packages and system acceptance by clients.
Ensure implementation of Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), hazard control, and permit procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks and enforce HSE guidelines at the job site.
Identify risks and report any deviations or unsafe practices during commissioning.
Strong understanding of instrumentation and control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
Hands-on experience with loop testing, control logic validation, and instrument calibration.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and logic diagrams.
Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Familiarity with industrial standards and protocols: HART, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
5–8 years of relevant experience in I&C commissioning, including 2–3 years in a supervisory capacity.
Industry experience in oil & gas, power plants, water treatment, or heavy industrial commissioning.
Familiarity with CMMS, test tools, and commissioning management systems is a plus.
Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S, Confined Space, PTW) preferred for site-based roles.
