The Senior HVAC Technician leads the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of HVAC systems that regulate environmental conditions within water treatment plants. This role involves overseeing complex HVAC repairs, mentoring junior technicians, coordinating with control system teams, and ensuring HVAC systems operate reliably and efficiently to meet safety and regulatory standards.
Lead the inspection, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment including air handlers, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and ventilation systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical HVAC system issues to minimize downtime and maintain environmental control.
Coordinate HVAC system integration with building automation systems (BAS) and SCADA for efficient plant operation.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level HVAC technicians.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to enhance equipment reliability.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE use.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and system performance metrics.
Collaborate with plant management and engineering teams to recommend system upgrades and energy-saving improvements.
Education:
Technical diploma or associate degree in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
Experience:
5+ years of HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting experience, preferably in water or industrial treatment facilities
Skills:
Expert knowledge of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems
