The Mid-Level HVAC Technician is responsible for independently maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems that control the environment within water treatment plants. This role requires solid hands-on experience with HVAC equipment such as air handlers, chillers, boilers, and ventilation systems, ensuring optimal plant environmental conditions and compliance with safety and operational standards.
Perform preventive maintenance including filter replacements, coil cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of HVAC systems and components.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on air handlers, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and ventilation controls.
Monitor HVAC system performance and adjust settings to optimize efficiency and indoor air quality.
Assist with HVAC system upgrades, modifications, and integration with building automation or SCADA systems.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and PPE usage.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance in CMMS or other maintenance tracking systems.
Mentor junior technicians and provide guidance during routine and emergency maintenance tasks.
Participate in training programs for continuous technical skill development.
Education:
Technical diploma or certification in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably in water treatment or industrial facilities
Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills with HVAC mechanical and electrical components
Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and HVAC schematics
Familiarity with HVAC controls, BAS, or SCADA systems
Excellent communication, teamwork, and safety awareness
