The HVAC Technician – Assembly Line Support (Mid-Level) is responsible for the installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC modules and systems on the production line. This role supports vehicle and HVAC module assembly operations by ensuring proper component integration, leak-free sealing, and HVAC performance according to manufacturing specifications. The technician works closely with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to address HVAC-related build issues, provide corrective actions, and uphold process reliability across shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform HVAC module installations and system hookups, including blower motors, evaporators, actuators, ducts, and electronic control interfaces.
Conduct leak testing, pressure checks, and flow validation on refrigerant and coolant systems during in-line and end-of-line (EOL) stages.
Diagnose and correct HVAC assembly issues, including fitment errors, airflow imbalances, or control malfunctions.
Interpret assembly drawings, torque specifications, and work instructions to ensure proper installation.
Assist in updating troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and technician training materials.
Support quality assurance efforts by performing HVAC audits and participating in root cause analysis for recurring line-side issues.
Communicate effectively with production leads, quality engineers, and maintenance technicians to support continuous flow.
Monitor tool condition, calibration status, and usage of HVAC-related fixtures or diagnostic tools.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Technical diploma or associate degree in HVAC, Automotive Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field
Certifications in HVAC servicing or refrigerant handling (e.g., EPA 608) are an asset
Experience:
2–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC system installation, automotive assembly, or module production
Familiarity with vehicle HVAC design, thermal performance, and production testing practices
Technical Skills:
Proficient in using HVAC test tools (manifold gauges, leak detectors, airflow meters)
Understanding of refrigerant cycle basics, airflow tuning, and system integration
Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic outputs
Soft Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and decision-making capabilities
Good written and verbal communication for issue reporting and resolution tracking
