Job Title: HVAC Technician – Assembly Line Support

Job Summary:

The Junior HVAC Technician – Assembly Line Support is responsible for assisting with the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC components during vehicle or module assembly operations. This entry-level role supports production teams by ensuring HVAC systems are correctly assembled, sealed, and functionally tested according to manufacturing standards. The technician works hands-on with ducts, evaporators, blowers, actuators, and refrigerant lines to maintain build quality and minimize line disruptions, under the supervision of senior technicians or engineering leads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of HVAC components on vehicle assembly lines, including HVAC modules, ducts, blowers, and actuators.

  • Support leak testing and pressure verification of refrigerant and coolant systems during early assembly stages.

  • Perform functional checks of HVAC systems to ensure blower operation, airflow direction, and temperature control response.

  • Identify and report installation issues, missing components, or improper torque/sealing during assembly.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines in all tasks.

  • Assist with HVAC system rework or adjustments during quality audits or post-assembly inspections.

  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve minor line-side HVAC issues.

  • Maintain proper tool calibration, cleanliness, and component organization at the workstation.

  • Basic troubleshooting of airflow, controls, and component fitment

  • Adherence to production quality and safety standards

  • Communication with assembly, quality, and technician teams

  • Learning correct handling of HVAC parts and systems

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • High school diploma or technical school certification in HVAC, Automotive Technology, or related field

  • On-the-job training or relevant coursework in HVAC systems preferred

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of experience in HVAC service, automotive assembly, or mechanical technician work

  • Familiarity with automotive HVAC components a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of HVAC system layout and function

  • Ability to use hand tools, torque wrenches, and diagnostic equipment

  • Willingness to learn leak testing, sealing methods, and airflow diagnostics

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced production environment

  • Safety- and quality-minded work ethic
