The Mid-Level HVAC Controls & Actuator Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and validating control algorithms and actuator systems for automotive HVAC applications. This role leads calibration efforts, supports hardware/software integration, and drives improvements in actuator performance and reliability. The engineer collaborates closely with software, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure robust climate control operation across diverse vehicle platforms and participates in system-level testing and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, calibrate, and optimize control algorithms for HVAC actuators such as blend doors, recirculation flaps, and compressors.
Lead integration and testing of sensors, actuators, and control modules in laboratory and vehicle environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, improving actuator response and system reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including embedded software, hardware design, and vehicle integration to refine control strategies.
Manage and update technical documentation including calibration data, test procedures, and software versions.
Plan and execute validation tests to verify control system performance under various operating conditions.
Stay current with emerging HVAC control technologies, actuator hardware, and industry best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and support skill development within the team.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field required
Experience:
3–6 years of experience in control systems engineering, embedded software, or automotive HVAC applications
Technical Skills:
Proficient in control theory, actuator dynamics, and embedded system calibration tools
Experience with HVAC actuator systems, sensors, and ECU software integration
Skilled in diagnostic and troubleshooting tools for control systems
Familiarity with automotive standards and testing procedures
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
