We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Senior HVAC Controls Supervisor to lead the operations, maintenance, and strategic development of HVAC control systems within a power plant. This role involves high-level supervision of Building Management Systems (BMS), oversight of automation projects, and integration with mechanical and electrical systems to optimize performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Lead the operation and optimization of HVAC control systems including DDC, BMS/BAS, PLCs, and SCADA platforms.
Review and validate control sequences, PID logic, and equipment interlocks for mission-critical HVAC assets.
Drive improvements in energy efficiency, system reliability, and environmental compliance through automation enhancements.
Lead root cause analysis of HVAC control system faults including sensor drift, network communication failures, and programming errors.
Oversee system-level integration of chillers, AHUs, VAVs, cooling towers, and pressurization systems.
Manage alarm protocols, override authorizations, and fail-safe logic during shutdowns and plant upsets.
Supervise and mentor a team of HVAC control technicians, junior engineers, and contractors.
Set performance standards and ensure adherence to power plant operational protocols.
Coordinate interdepartmental activities with IT, electrical, instrumentation, and process engineering teams.
Ensure full compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISA, and local regulatory codes.
Lead internal and external audits related to BMS configurations, calibration schedules, and control logic.
Provide detailed reports on control system KPIs, energy performance, and system modifications.
Oversee HVAC automation upgrade projects, including scope development, technical specification review, vendor selection, and commissioning.
Collaborate with OEMs and integrators on advanced control system features such as predictive diagnostics and AI-driven energy optimization.
Lead BMS and HVAC controls performance, optimization, and compliance
Drive troubleshooting, system enhancements, and energy efficiency initiatives
Supervise multi-discipline control team and coordinate cross-functional operations
Manage automation upgrade projects and ensure robust documentation
Ensure compliance with standards, audit preparedness, and strategic reporting
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering
Certifications (Preferred):
Certified Building Automation Professional (CBAP)
ISA CCST / CSE or equivalent
OEM-specific BMS programming training (Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
Experience:
8–12+ years of experience in HVAC control systems, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or lead role
Extensive exposure to power plant HVAC systems, automation platforms, and utility-grade control strategies
Skills:
Expertise in BMS programming, fault diagnostics, and system commissioning
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-disciplinary coordination skills
Familiarity with energy modeling tools, system optimization, and data logging platforms
High proficiency in control drawing review, logic diagram interpretation, and technical documentation
