We are seeking a motivated Junior HVAC Controls Supervisor to assist in overseeing the operation, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of HVAC automation and control systems within a power plant facility. This entry-level supervisory role is ideal for candidates with foundational experience in HVAC systems and control logic who are eager to grow into a technical leadership role. The candidate will work closely with senior engineers and technicians to support daily operations and maintenance activities.
Assist in monitoring and adjusting HVAC control systems, including BMS/BAS, VFDs, actuators, thermostats, and programmable controllers.
Support the implementation of scheduled maintenance for sensors, controllers, and feedback devices.
Help verify setpoints, alarms, and operating sequences for compliance and system stability.
Collaborate with technicians to diagnose issues in temperature, pressure, airflow regulation, and signal communication.
Conduct initial inspections and escalate complex control faults to senior supervisors or system integrators.
Follow standard operating procedures during alarm responses and routine testing.
Support the coordination of tasks for a small team of HVAC controls technicians and electricians.
Maintain daily logs and assist in shift handovers with accurate control data records.
Help ensure adherence to safety practices during control panel access and wiring activities.
Assist in documenting HVAC control parameters, calibration records, and sensor replacements.
Help maintain compliance with control system standards and protocols (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISA).
Participate in safety briefings and control system integrity checks.
Assist in HVAC control system monitoring and basic troubleshooting
Support team coordination and safe control access practices
Maintain control system logs and participate in inspections
Develop understanding of BMS logic, PID loops, and HVAC automation
Support compliance with operational and safety standards
Education:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or HVAC Controls Technology
Experience:
1–3 years of experience with HVAC or industrial control systems (BMS, DDC, PLC preferred)
Exposure to chilled water systems, air distribution, and automation preferred
Skills:
Basic understanding of HVAC system logic, control diagrams, and automation loops
Familiarity with common sensors, actuators, and HVAC-related control devices
Strong organizational, communication, and safety awareness skills
Willingness to learn programming interfaces and system commissioning practices
