The Junior HVAC/ECS Technician supports the setup, operation, and maintenance of aircraft cabin and laboratory test rigs used to evaluate Environmental Control System (ECS) and HVAC performance. This hands-on role involves working with pneumatic, thermal, and control systems under the supervision of senior technicians and test engineers. The technician is responsible for assisting with rig configuration, basic troubleshooting, system monitoring, and ensuring that testing operations comply with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in setting up and configuring ECS/HVAC test rigs, including ducting, valves, sensors, and test equipment
Support test operations by monitoring temperature, pressure, humidity, and flow parameters
Help install instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, and flow meters
Perform basic troubleshooting of leaks, electrical connections, and rig hardware
Follow test procedures, safety guidelines, and operational checklists
Assist in data logging, test documentation, and system checkouts
Work under direction from senior technicians and test engineers to modify or maintain test setups
Maintain tools, hoses, fittings, and hardware inventory in good condition
Support equipment calibration and preventive maintenance activities
Learn and follow aerospace test lab best practices and cleanliness standards

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or GED (required)
Technical certification or associate degree in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, or Aerospace Systems (preferred)
Experience:
0–2 years of hands-on technical experience (internship or vocational training in HVAC or aerospace test environment preferred)
Exposure to mechanical systems, air conditioning, or environmental test setups is a plus
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of HVAC or ECS system function (airflow, cooling, heating, humidity control)
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
Ability to follow schematics, diagrams, and written work instructions
Understanding of workplace safety practices in a lab or hangar environment
Soft Skills:
