We are seeking a skilled Fire Protection / Smoke Control Engineer with a solid background in fire safety systems integrated with HVAC operations within power plant environments. This role is responsible for overseeing design reviews, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards, and supporting the commissioning and operational reliability of smoke control and fire protection systems.
Lead coordination of smoke control systems with HVAC components including smoke dampers, pressurization fans, exhaust systems, and fire-rated ductwork.
Review and validate fire protection system designs in line with NFPA 92, ASHRAE, IBC, and power plant standards.
Interface with MEP teams to ensure cross-discipline design compatibility during upgrades and new construction.
Supervise installation, commissioning, and functional testing of fire detection and smoke control components.
Monitor system performance under normal and emergency scenarios to ensure compliance and functionality.
Recommend corrective actions for performance gaps or non-conformance during periodic inspections.
Ensure that all fire protection and smoke management systems comply with local and international fire safety codes.
Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory audits and plant internal safety reviews.
Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification workshops.
Assist in the planning and execution of HVAC system retrofits or new builds involving fire/smoke integration.
Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor data, technical specifications, and submittals for fire/HVAC systems.
Lead or support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) related to safety equipment.
Train junior engineers and technicians on system operation, maintenance best practices, and applicable standards.
Stay updated with changes to codes, technologies, and system design methodologies relevant to fire and HVAC systems.
Use CFD tools or simulation software to support smoke movement modeling (desirable but not mandatory).
Manage integration of smoke control systems with HVAC operations
Ensure fire safety compliance across HVAC-linked infrastructure
Support testing, commissioning, and ongoing reliability of protection systems
Coordinate cross-functional teams during design, construction, and operation phases
Mentor junior engineers and improve system documentation practices
