We are seeking an experienced and proactive Field Services Supervisor (Mid-Level) to lead the on-site execution of maintenance, installation, overhauls, and commissioning activities for gas and steam turbines and other turbomachinery systems. This role bridges hands-on mechanical fieldwork with team leadership and customer interface, ensuring safety, technical quality, and timely project delivery.
The position requires a solid background in turbine field service, strong communication and leadership skills, and a practical understanding of rotating equipment performance and mechanical integrity.
Supervise and participate in field service activities including disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, and alignment of gas and steam turbines.
Lead daily execution tasks for a multidisciplinary team of technicians, contractors, riggers, and OEM representatives.
Ensure compliance with work scopes, technical specifications, OEM procedures, and safety standards.
Assist in planning outage schedules, manpower allocation, tooling logistics, and spare parts readiness.
Coordinate with client representatives, engineering teams, and supply chain to ensure smooth field operations.
Conduct pre-job briefings, site readiness assessments, and kick-off meetings.
Perform alignment, clearance measurements, fit-ups, borescope inspections, and rotor positioning.
Identify field deviations, technical issues, and support corrective action plans in real time.
Support mechanical troubleshooting during commissioning/startup phases.
Maintain detailed service logs, inspection checklists, daily reports, and job site documentation.
Prepare and deliver field service reports, timesheets, punch lists, and close-out packages.
Provide post-job feedback to engineering and performance teams to support continuous improvement.
Enforce all job site safety requirements including LOTO, permit-to-work, confined space entry, and lifting procedures.
Lead toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety meetings during field jobs.
Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts promptly.
Bachelorโs or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent technical field.
Relevant certifications from turbine OEMs (GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.) are highly valued.
5โ8 years of experience in field service roles focused on turbomachinery (gas and/or steam turbines, compressors, or generators).
At least 2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity on field projects or outages.
Deep understanding of gas/steam turbine internals, alignment, balancing, and vibration fundamentals.
Proficiency with OEM manuals, technical drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical tolerances.
Hands-on use of tools such as laser alignment, borescope, dial indicators, micrometers, and torque tools.
