We are seeking a seasoned and technically proficient Senior Field Maintenance Supervisor to lead all field-level maintenance activities related to boiler pressure parts within a power plant. This senior role is responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity, operational reliability, and code compliance of high-pressure steam components such as waterwalls, superheaters, economizers, headers, and risers. The role involves leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing complex outages, and acting as the on-site expert in pressure part maintenance and welding operations.
Direct and supervise complex repairs, replacements, and inspections of boiler pressure parts during planned outages and forced shutdowns.
Lead multi-skilled teams including welders, fitters, riggers, and NDT technicians in high-risk boiler work.
Serve as the primary field authority for troubleshooting chronic tube failures, metal fatigue, cracking, or corrosion in high-energy systems.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, welding maps, NDT reports, and isometrics for accurate execution of maintenance work.
Ensure all repair and fabrication work complies with ASME Section I & IX, NBIC, and site-specific QA/QC standards.
Lead root cause investigations (RCAs) for major failures and contribute to long-term corrective action plans.
Enforce rigorous compliance with LOTO, confined space, hot work, and boiler safety protocols.
Collaborate with safety, compliance, and inspection teams to meet jurisdictional boiler regulations and insurance audits.
Review contractor work methods and ensure alignment with site safety management systems (SMS).
Work closely with outage planners and reliability engineers to scope, schedule, and resource boiler pressure part activities.
Identify long-lead spares, welding consumables, and scaffolding/staging requirements well in advance.
Provide detailed input into outage reports, cost tracking, and lessons-learned documentation.
Train and mentor junior supervisors, technicians, and welders on best practices in high-pressure boiler maintenance.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and field discipline within the maintenance team.
Senior-level supervision of pressure part inspection and repair
Outage leadership, risk mitigation, and QA/QC compliance
Code and safety adherence (ASME, NBIC, OSHA)
Field troubleshooting and RCA for tube and component failures
Workforce mentoring and contractor coordination
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Boiler Technology, or related field
Trade license in boiler repair/welding is an asset
Certifications (Preferred):
NBIC R-Stamp knowledge, ASME Section IX welding qualification awareness
API 579, NDT Level II/III exposure, or advanced pressure vessel maintenance training
OSHA 30, confined space, and hot work certification
Experience:
10–15 years of experience in power plant or large industrial boiler maintenance
Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role overseeing pressure parts
Demonstrated expertise in outage planning, field execution, and weld repair processes
