The Junior Field Maintenance Supervisor – Boiler Pressure Parts is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day supervision of field maintenance and minor repair activities involving boiler pressure components such as waterwalls, economizers, superheaters, and steam drums. This role supports senior supervisors in ensuring safe execution, adherence to technical standards, and timely completion of tasks during routine maintenance or minor shutdowns.
Support field-level execution of scheduled and preventive maintenance tasks on boiler pressure parts.
Supervise contractors and maintenance technicians during cleaning, inspection, minor repairs, and pressure part replacements.
Assist in implementing work plans based on inspection findings, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols.
Verify alignment with applicable codes (ASME Section I & IX, NBIC) and internal mechanical integrity standards.
Monitor welding and fitting work on tubes, headers, and steam lines, escalating quality concerns to QA/QC teams.
Ensure proper documentation of work orders, inspection checklists, and safety observations.
Participate in toolbox talks, permit-to-work (PTW) processes, and site safety audits.
Collaborate with planning and inventory teams to ensure availability of parts and consumables.
Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring failures and recommend basic corrective actions.
Build working knowledge of pressure part configuration, thermal expansion, and common failure mechanisms (e.g., corrosion, erosion).
Field Maintenance Execution
Assist in the supervision of tube replacements, weld repairs, refractory touch-ups, and minor overhauls.
Safety & Worksite Control
Promote safe work practices and help enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO), confined space, and hot work procedures.
Code Awareness & Quality Control
Begin developing familiarity with pressure part codes and quality control steps related to boiler maintenance.
Technical Documentation
Support accurate completion of field logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Engineering, or relevant field.
0–2 years of field experience in boiler maintenance or pressure equipment.
Basic understanding of high-pressure steam systems and pressure part components.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, weld symbols, and basic P&IDs.
Willingness to work in confined, elevated, and thermally challenging environments.
Internship or training exposure in a thermal power plant, utility boiler, or refinery.
Familiarity with ASME Section I and NBIC standards is an advantage.
Exposure to CMMS tools (e.g., SAP, Maximo) for work order tracking.
Strong attention to detail, safety orientation, and eagerness to learn.
