Job Title: Facilities Systems Manager (HVAC/Mechanical)

Job Summary:

The Facilities Systems Manager (HVAC/Mechanical) oversees the operation, maintenance, and optimization of HVAC and mechanical systems supporting power plant facilities. This role ensures all building and plant environmental control systems function reliably and efficiently to meet operational and safety requirements. The manager leads maintenance teams, manages vendor relationships, and drives initiatives to improve system performance and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Systems Management:

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of HVAC, ventilation, and mechanical systems within power plant buildings and associated facilities.

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all facility mechanical systems.

  • Monitor system performance and coordinate timely repairs and upgrades to maintain optimal conditions.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise facilities maintenance personnel, including HVAC technicians and mechanical staff.

  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Promote adherence to safety standards and best practices within the team.

Vendor and Contractor Coordination:

  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and system installations.

  • Oversee contract negotiations, work scheduling, and quality control.

  • Ensure vendor compliance with safety and technical specifications.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce compliance with all safety regulations and facility standards related to mechanical and HVAC systems.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.

  • Maintain records and documentation to support regulatory and internal audits.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets related to facilities mechanical systems maintenance and operations.

  • Optimize resource allocation to balance operational reliability with cost efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for energy savings and sustainability improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field

Experience:

  • 7+ years in facilities management or HVAC/mechanical systems maintenance, preferably in power plant or industrial settings

  • Experience supervising maintenance teams and managing contractors

Skills:

  • Strong technical understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems used in large facilities

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements

  • Budget management and cost control capabilities
