Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Manager – HVAC Systems

Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Manager – HVAC Systems is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational reliability of HVAC equipment across water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role leads the maintenance team to ensure all HVAC systems operate efficiently and comply with safety and environmental standards, minimizing downtime and supporting plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Management

• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and ventilation systems.

• Manage day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure HVAC system reliability and performance.

• Oversee troubleshooting and rapid resolution of HVAC equipment issues.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a skilled maintenance team specialized in HVAC systems.

• Ensure the team follows safety procedures and best maintenance practices.

• Coordinate training programs to enhance team technical skills.

Asset Management & Compliance

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and asset histories for HVAC equipment.

• Ensure HVAC systems comply with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations to support HVAC-related projects and upgrades.

Budget & Resource Management

• Manage maintenance budgets, inventory of HVAC parts, tools, and equipment.

• Optimize resource allocation to meet maintenance and operational goals.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, Facilities Management, or related field (preferred)

Experience:

• 7+ years in HVAC maintenance with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role

• Experience in water treatment or industrial facility HVAC maintenance highly desirable

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and troubleshooting

• Leadership and team management skills

• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS)
