Fabrication Technician – Aerospace Metal Parts

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Junior Fabrication Technician to assist in the fabrication of metal components used in aerospace applications. The ideal candidate has basic technical training and a strong willingness to learn precision metalworking techniques in a high-quality, safety-focused environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician looking to grow in a highly regulated and demanding industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the fabrication, cutting, bending, forming, and fitting of aerospace-grade metal parts (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, etc.).

  • Operate basic fabrication equipment such as shears, saws, grinders, and drill presses.

  • Support senior technicians during complex fabrication processes, including TIG welding, riveting, and CNC brake press operations.

  • Perform deburring, surface preparation, and part cleaning as required.

  • Read and interpret basic technical drawings, work instructions, and job travelers.

  • Conduct visual and basic dimensional inspection of parts using standard measurement tools.

  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow shop safety protocols and procedures.

  • Follow documentation procedures and assist in tracking materials and tools used in production.

  • Hands-On Fabrication Support: Assist in preparing and assembling metal parts according to specifications.

  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high standards of precision and cleanliness for aerospace component quality.

  • Tool Familiarity: Safely use manual tools and basic shop equipment for metalworking tasks.

  • Learning Orientation: Demonstrate eagerness to learn advanced fabrication processes and industry standards.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior fabricators and engineers to support project timelines and goals.

  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to aerospace manufacturing safety, cleanliness, and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or diploma in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field is a plus.

  • 0–2 years of experience in a metal fabrication or mechanical workshop environment.

  • Basic understanding of fabrication tools and processes.

  • Familiarity with reading simple blueprints or technical drawings.

  • Good manual dexterity, physical stamina, and a safety-first mindset.

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-standards environment.
