The Junior Fabrication Technician supports the manufacturing process by assisting in the fabrication, assembly, and modification of metal components and mechanical systems. Working under the guidance of senior fabricators and supervisors, this role involves hands-on work with tools, machinery, and fabrication equipment to produce quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. The technician ensures accuracy, follows safety procedures, and contributes to production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the cutting, shaping, and assembly of metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery (e.g., grinders, saws, drill presses).
Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and schematics to fabricate components to required tolerances.
Perform basic welding, deburring, and surface preparation on fabricated components under supervision.
Support senior technicians in the setup and operation of CNC or manual machining and forming equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and maintained.
Participate in quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and conformance with specifications.
Adhere to workplace safety regulations and use appropriate PPE during all fabrication tasks.
Report equipment malfunctions, defects, or material shortages to supervisors.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical training or certificate in fabrication, machining, or welding preferred
Experience:
0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
Internship or vocational shop experience is a plus
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with basic fabrication tools and shop safety practices
Ability to read simple mechanical drawings and measurements
Basic welding or machining knowledge desirable
