We are seeking a highly experienced and technically competent Senior Fabrication Technician to lead and execute complex fabrication activities for power plant structures, piping, and equipment. This role involves interpreting detailed fabrication drawings, mentoring junior staff, coordinating with welders and fitters, and ensuring all fabrication tasks are performed to the highest quality and safety standards in compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
Lead the fabrication of complex structural and mechanical components such as platforms, pipe racks, skids, ducting, and heavy supports.
Perform precision cutting, grinding, drilling, layout, and fit-up of metal parts.
Ensure proper alignment, tolerances, and weld preparation for pressure and structural systems.
Interpret detailed fabrication drawings, isometrics, and blueprints.
Provide technical solutions and support design modifications if required during fabrication.
Coordinate with engineering, QC, and project teams to resolve fabrication or material issues.
Supervise and train junior and mid-level technicians in fabrication techniques and safety practices.
Delegate daily tasks and ensure timely completion of fabrication work.
Support workshop foreman and supervisors in planning and execution.
Ensure fabricated components comply with codes such as ASME, AWS, and project specifications.
Conduct pre-assembly inspections and verify dimensions and fit-ups before welding.
Promote safe work practices and participate in safety meetings, audits, and corrective actions.

Education:
Technical diploma or certification in mechanical fabrication, welding, or mechanical engineering trades
Experience:
7–12+ years of fabrication experience in power plants, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects
Skills:
Expertise in cutting, grinding, forming, and assembling structural and pressure parts
Strong understanding of welding symbols, fabrication codes (ASME, AWS D1.1), and tolerance requirements
Ability to lead fabrication teams, manage work sequencing, and ensure workflow efficiency
