The Senior Fabrication Supervisor – Stainless Steel provides high-level leadership and oversight for the stainless steel fabrication shop within a food and beverage manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing complex fabrication projects, leading large teams of welders, fabricators, and assemblers, and ensuring strict adherence to 3-A Sanitary Standards, FDA and USDA regulations, and company quality and safety policies. The senior supervisor drives continuous improvement initiatives, optimizes fabrication processes, and collaborates cross-functionally to support business goals.
Lead and manage the entire stainless steel fabrication team, including supervisors, welders, fitters, and assemblers across multiple shifts if applicable.
Oversee complex fabrication projects ensuring compliance with sanitary design standards, regulatory requirements, and production timelines.
Develop and implement best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures specific to stainless steel fabrication in food & beverage applications.
Monitor welding qualifications, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate ongoing training and certification programs.
Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, and production teams to resolve technical issues and enhance fabrication efficiency.
Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance product quality.
Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing rigorous safety standards, conducting audits, and leading safety training programs.
Manage fabrication budgets, resource planning, and capital equipment needs.
Prepare and present reports on fabrication performance, quality metrics, and project status to senior management.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma, associate, or bachelor’s degree in welding technology, manufacturing, or related field preferred
8+ years of stainless steel fabrication experience with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Extensive knowledge of sanitary fabrication standards (3-A), FDA, USDA, and relevant food safety regulations
Proven experience leading fabrication operations in a food and beverage or sanitary equipment manufacturing environment
Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities
In-depth understanding of welding codes, stainless steel fabrication techniques, and quality assurance processes
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Expertise in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and safety management
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-shift operations
