Job Title: Fabrication Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabrication Supervisor – Mid-Level to oversee daily operations in the fabrication shop or field environment. You will be responsible for supervising fabrication teams, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications, codes, and company standards. This role requires solid technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and hands-on experience in fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, fitting, and assembly of piping, structural, or mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Supervision & Workflow Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily work of welders, fitters, and helpers to meet production schedules.

  • Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to fabrication plans.

  • Support workforce development through training and mentoring.

Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight:

  • Review and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and material specifications.

  • Ensure fabrication work meets quality standards and codes (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).

  • Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and resolve non-conformities as needed.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

  • Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and promote a safety-first culture.

  • Report incidents, near misses, and assist in root cause analysis.

Resource & Material Management:

  • Coordinate availability of materials, tools, and equipment for uninterrupted work.

  • Track material consumption and minimize waste.

  • Report on production metrics, delays, and progress to senior supervisors or management.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Liaise with engineering, planning, and QA/QC teams to ensure smooth workflow.

  • Participate in meetings related to fabrication progress, schedule, and workforce needs.

  • Maintain clear documentation of daily production and manpower utilization.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Managing fabrication shop teams and processes

  • Ensuring compliance with drawings, codes, and quality standards

  • Maintaining safety and operational efficiency

  • Collaborating with project and QA/QC teams

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, or related discipline

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CSWIP, AWS CWI) are advantageous

Experience:

  • 4–7 years of experience in fabrication, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role

  • Hands-on knowledge of welding, fitting, and fabrication of piping, structural steel, or pressure components

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, WPS, and material specs

  • Familiarity with fabrication standards: ASME, API, AWS, etc.

  • Knowledge of fabrication tools, machinery, and layout techniques

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities

  • Effective communication and decision-making skills
