We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior – Fabrication QA/QC Supervisor to support and lead quality assurance and control activities within our metal fabrication operations. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in fabrication processes and inspection methods who are ready to take on supervisory responsibilities. The position focuses on ensuring fabricated components meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.
Supervise in-process and final inspections for fabricated parts (e.g., welding, cutting, forming, assembly).
Ensure inspection records, reports, and quality documentation are properly maintained.
Lead and coordinate a small team of QC inspectors and quality technicians.
Provide day-to-day support, direction, and coaching to ensure consistent quality practices.
Ensure all fabrication work adheres to applicable codes (e.g., AWS, ASME), internal procedures, and customer requirements.
Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Investigate non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis.
Work with production and engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain quality control records, weld maps, and inspection logs.
Support generation of quality reports and audits.
Perform visual, dimensional, and weld inspections on fabricated metal components.
Verify raw materials, weld consumables, and fit-up prior to welding.
Supervise and train inspection staff in proper inspection techniques and standards.
Participate in first-article inspections, incoming material checks, and final product audits.
Assist in internal and external quality audits and compliance activities.
Escalate quality concerns and coordinate with engineering and production for resolution.
Diploma or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Fabrication, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in quality control/assurance within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and standard inspection techniques.
Familiarity with basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
Understanding of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, or similar codes (training or certification preferred).
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – or working toward certification.
Experience in sheet metal, structural, or heavy fabrication industries.
Exposure to ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Working knowledge of NCR (Non-Conformance Reporting), CAPA, and quality KPIs.
