We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mid-Level Fabrication Engineer (Mechanical) to manage and optimize fabrication processes for mechanical systems and structures. The role involves hands-on engineering support, production coordination, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in a fabrication environment.
Review and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications for fabrication.
Plan and oversee fabrication activities, including cutting, welding, forming, machining, and assembly.
Supervise and guide junior engineers and workshop personnel to ensure timely delivery.
Collaborate with design, quality, and procurement teams for efficient project execution.
Ensure fabrication processes adhere to industry standards and safety regulations.
Develop and maintain SOPs for fabrication activities and implement process improvements.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for fabrication issues.
Evaluate and select materials and fabrication methods for cost-effectiveness and performance.
Monitor project progress and prepare status reports for management.
Support vendor development and conduct technical evaluations of subcontractors if required.
Fabrication Process Management: Strong understanding of fabrication methods (welding, CNC machining, forming, etc.).
Project Execution: Ability to manage multiple fabrication jobs simultaneously while ensuring quality and delivery timelines.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T, and knowledge of relevant standards (ASME, AWS, ISO).
Team Leadership: Capable of supervising technicians, operators, and junior engineers.
Quality Assurance: Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, NDT methods, and inspection tools.
Lean Manufacturing: Exposure to lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Cost & Material Optimization: Focus on reducing waste, improving material yield, and cost control.
Health & Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to safety protocols and hazard control in fabrication environments.
Communication: Effective cross-functional communication and reporting.
