The Executive Director – Smart Manufacturing and Systems Integration is responsible for spearheading the enterprise-wide strategy and execution of smart manufacturing initiatives. This role leads the deployment of advanced technologies, digital systems, and integrated platforms to optimize production performance, data connectivity, and real-time decision-making across all manufacturing sites.
Define and lead the smart manufacturing strategy, aligned with Industry 4.0 and business transformation goals.
Drive the integration of systems including MES, SCADA, ERP, IoT, automation, robotics, and AI/ML platforms.
Ensure data-driven, connected operations by building a unified digital infrastructure across sites.
Lead cross-functional programs for digital transformation, including plant modernization and systems harmonization.
Oversee the selection, implementation, and scaling of advanced manufacturing technologies and software.
Foster innovation and continuous improvement using predictive analytics, digital twins, and cyber-physical systems.
Establish governance, KPIs, and change management processes to support adoption and value realization.
Build strong partnerships with IT, engineering, quality, and operations teams to align technology with operational goals.
Manage teams of engineers, data scientists, and systems architects to deliver digital solutions on time and within budget.
Smart Manufacturing Strategy:
Develop and implement enterprise-level frameworks for digital production, intelligent systems, and smart factory operations.
Systems Integration:
Enable seamless interoperability across MES, ERP, SCADA, PLCs, sensors, robotics, and cloud platforms for real-time visibility and control.
Industry 4.0 Enablement:
Champion the adoption of technologies such as digital twins, edge computing, AI/ML, and IIoT to drive agility and efficiency.
Digital Infrastructure Development:
Architect and standardize scalable, secure digital systems to support connected manufacturing operations.
Operational Intelligence:
Deliver advanced analytics and visualization tools that enable predictive maintenance, quality monitoring, and production optimization.
Governance & Compliance:
Define standards and ensure adherence to cybersecurity (IEC 62443), safety (IEC 61511), and data governance frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Align engineering, IT, and operations stakeholders around common digital goals and implementation strategies.
Talent and Innovation Leadership:
Build a high-performing team and innovation culture focused on digital capabilities, agile execution, and continuous learning.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in manufacturing systems, automation, or digital transformation, with 5+ years in executive leadership.
Proven experience deploying MES, SCADA, IoT, cloud, and AI/ML technologies in industrial environments.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, plant operations, and IT/OT convergence.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience in regulated and high-precision industries (e.g., automotive, electronics, pharma, FMCG) is a plus.
