This role ensures mechanical assets are safe, compliant, and optimized for cost, performance, and sustainability. The position integrates mechanical discipline excellence with organizational goals in reliability, production efficiency, and long-term asset health.
Lead the development and implementation of world-class maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance (CBM)
Set long-term vision for mechanical reliability and uptime across all critical equipment
Drive implementation of CMMS/EAM systems (SAP, Maximo, Oracle) for structured maintenance management
Provide executive-level technical direction for all mechanical systems: rotating equipment, static pressure systems, piping, valves, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, HVAC, etc.
Lead engineering governance and ensure all projects and designs adhere to international codes (ASME, API, ISO, etc.)
Review and approve capital projects involving mechanical infrastructure upgrades or expansions
Establish and track KPIs: MTBF, OEE, availability, cost per unit output, work order compliance
Champion RCM, FMEA, and RCA across the organization to identify and eliminate chronic failures
Lead strategic βbad actorβ programs and total productive maintenance (TPM) initiatives
Provide executive oversight for major shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital maintenance events
Define mechanical scopes, contractor strategy, budgets, and risk mitigation for outages
Validate QA/QC processes and ensure readiness of assets for startup post-intervention
Ensure compliance with mechanical safety standards, pressure regulations, and emissions control
Drive energy efficiency improvements in mechanical systems (steam traps, insulation, rotating assets)
Champion low-carbon solutions and mechanical process optimization initiatives
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of senior engineers, reliability specialists, planners, and supervisors
Build a succession pipeline through competency development and technical training
Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with Operations, HSE, Projects, Procurement, and Finance for strategic alignment
