The Executive Director – EV/HEV HVAC Systems Integration is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end design, development, and integration of HVAC systems specifically tailored for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. This role drives the strategic direction, technical innovation, and cross-functional collaboration necessary to deliver efficient, high-performance climate control solutions that meet unique EV/HEV challenges such as battery thermal management, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. The Executive Director leads multi-disciplinary teams and works closely with vehicle architecture, battery, powertrain, and supplier partners to ensure seamless system integration aligned with business and regulatory goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and lead the strategic vision and roadmap for HVAC system integration in EV and HEV platforms.
Oversee design and development of HVAC and thermal management systems focused on battery cooling/heating, cabin comfort, and energy optimization.
Manage cross-functional engineering teams responsible for system architecture, controls, hardware development, and validation.
Drive innovation in refrigerant technologies, heat pump systems, and advanced controls tailored to electric and hybrid vehicles.
Collaborate with vehicle integration, battery, powertrain, and controls teams to optimize HVAC packaging and system efficiency.
Lead supplier development and partnership strategies to incorporate cutting-edge technologies and components.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and industry standards specific to EV/HEV thermal management and refrigerant regulations.
Oversee program planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management for HVAC integration projects.
Mentor and develop engineering leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
Represent EV/HEV HVAC systems integration in executive leadership forums, customer engagements, and industry events.
Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting EV/HEV climate systems.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field required
Advanced degree preferred
Experience:
15+ years in HVAC or thermal systems engineering, with significant experience in EV/HEV platforms
Proven leadership managing large, multi-disciplinary teams and complex integration programs
Strong background in battery thermal management and refrigerant technologies
Technical Skills:
Expertise in HVAC system design, heat pump technology, refrigerants, and thermal controls for EV/HEV applications
Familiarity with vehicle architecture constraints and packaging challenges for electric vehicles
Experience with regulatory standards and sustainability initiatives relevant to EV/HEV climate systems
