The Estimation and BD Engineer – Fabrication (Senior Level) leads the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for complex fabrication projects. This role manages client relationships, oversees the bid process, and plays a key role in securing high-value fabrication contracts across oil & gas, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
Lead the analysis of tender documents, specifications, and fabrication drawings for accurate cost estimation.
Develop detailed cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontracting, logistics, QA/QC, and overheads.
Prepare and present high-quality technical and commercial proposals for pressure vessels, skids, structural steel, piping, and custom-fabricated components.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to align bids with technical feasibility and production capacity.
Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors for competitive pricing and delivery commitments.
Build and maintain relationships with key clients, consultants, and contractors to generate business opportunities and repeat orders.
Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarification discussions.
Support strategic pricing decisions, contract reviews, and risk assessments with senior management.
Track market trends, competitor bids, and client procurement cycles to improve bid positioning and hit rate.
Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimation systems and databases.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent; PMP or MBA is a plus.
7–10 years of experience in estimation and business development for fabrication projects in oil & gas, industrial construction, or manufacturing.
Advanced knowledge of fabrication techniques (welding, machining, forming, NDT, painting, and assembly).
Expertise in interpreting detailed fabrication drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.
Strong command of MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools; ERP system familiarity is advantageous.
Proven track record of winning large-scale fabrication contracts.
Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and client handling experience.
Ability to manage multiple tenders, lead cross-functional teams, and work under tight deadlines.
Deep understanding of international codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO, etc.).
