The Senior Equipment Maintenance Supervisor leads and mentors the maintenance organization for both facility‐support systems (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, utilities) and core process equipment (e.g., pumps, mixers, heat exchangers). This role is accountable for maximizing equipment availability, driving strategic reliability improvements, enforcing safety and quality standards, and managing large‐scale maintenance projects including turnarounds.
Strategic Maintenance Leadership
Define and execute the maintenance strategy aligning with business goals, production targets, and budgetary constraints.
Develop long‐term lifecycle plans for critical assets, balancing CapEx and OpEx.
Team Management & Development
Lead, coach, and evaluate multi‐disciplinary maintenance teams (technicians, supervisors, contractors).
Establish competency frameworks, succession plans, and advanced training programs (e.g., vibration analysis, PLC troubleshooting).
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
Champion root‐cause failure analysis (RCFA) initiatives and lead cross‐functional reliability projects (alignment programs, bearing upgrades, system redesigns).
Implement and refine predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, motor current signature).
Major Shutdowns & Turnarounds
Plan and oversee scope, resourcing, and execution of scheduled shutdowns, ensuring safety, quality, and on‐time completion.
Coordinate inter‐departmental activities and third‐party contractors for complex maintenance outages.
Maintenance Planning & CMMS Governance
Optimize preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) schedules in the CMMS; ensure data integrity and KPI tracking.
Monitor KPIs—MTBF, MTTR, planned vs. unplanned ratio, maintenance cost per unit—and drive corrective actions.
Safety, Compliance & Budget Control
Enforce EHS standards (LOTO, PTW, risk assessments); lead incident investigations and preventive measures.
Manage maintenance budget, control spare parts inventory strategy, and negotiate service agreements.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance to align maintenance priorities.
Produce executive‐level reports on asset health, project status, and continuous improvement outcomes.
