We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Energy Efficiency Engineer to lead and support HVAC optimization initiatives within a power plant environment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in HVAC systems, thermodynamics, and energy performance analysis, with hands-on experience implementing energy-saving measures. This role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, driving sustainable improvements, and supporting measurement and verification efforts for plant-wide HVAC systems.
HVAC Energy Performance Management
Conduct detailed analysis of energy consumption and thermal performance across HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, pumps, fans, etc.).
Lead benchmarking and energy baseline development using historical and real-time data.
Identify abnormal consumption trends and propose corrective actions.
System Optimization & Project Implementation
Lead field-level energy audits focused on HVAC systems and controls.
Design and implement low-cost/no-cost energy-saving measures (e.g., VFD retrofits, control reprogramming, optimized sequencing).
Collaborate with maintenance and controls teams to implement energy efficiency projects.
Support lifecycle analysis of HVAC upgrades and retrofits.
Measurement & Verification (M&V)
Develop and execute M&V plans in accordance with IPMVP protocols.
Deploy and manage data logging tools, flow meters, and power analyzers.
Quantify energy savings from implemented measures and develop performance dashboards.
Present results to stakeholders and management.
Documentation, Compliance & Reporting
Maintain comprehensive documentation of energy efficiency projects and operational changes.
Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, ISO 50001 protocols, and internal policies.
Create technical reports, audit findings, and system diagrams reflecting ongoing improvements.
Cross-Functional Support & Development
Train junior engineers and interns in HVAC system optimization practices.
Interface with procurement, operations, and design teams for sustainability-related initiatives.
Participate in internal and external energy efficiency workshops, conferences, and certifications.
Lead HVAC system audits and optimization initiatives
Oversee energy savings quantification and M&V tasks
Drive project implementation and cross-functional coordination
Develop technical documentation for reporting and compliance
Mentor junior team members and support capacity building
