Junior Ducting & Airflow Technician
Job Summary:
The Junior Ducting & Airflow Technician supports the assembly, testing, and inspection of HVAC ducting and airflow systems in automotive applications. This entry-level role involves assisting in fabrication, fitting, and airflow validation of ducts and vents, ensuring proper installation and system performance. The technician works under supervision to help maintain airflow balance, identify leaks or blockages, and support lab or production teams with basic troubleshooting and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the assembly, installation, and routing of HVAC ducting and air distribution components on test benches or vehicles.
Support airflow testing activities, including airflow rate measurements, pressure drop assessments, and leak detection using airflow meters and manometers.
Inspect ducting components and assemblies for fit, finish, and functional integrity following drawings and specifications.
Help identify and report airflow irregularities or mechanical defects during test or production runs.
Assist in maintaining airflow lab/test equipment, including cleaning and calibration support.
Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards during all ducting and airflow tasks.
Document test setups, observations, and findings in logs or electronic systems.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and quality teams to ensure system performance goals are met.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or technical certificate in HVAC, Mechanical, or Automotive Technology
Basic training or coursework in fluid dynamics or airflow measurement is a plus
Experience:
0–2 years of experience in HVAC assembly, airflow testing, or automotive production support
Exposure to HVAC ducting components and airflow testing equipment is preferred
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with airflow measurement tools (anemometers, manometers)
Basic understanding of HVAC ducting, airflow principles, and leak testing methods
Ability to read assembly drawings and follow technical instructions
Soft Skills:
