Diverter Damper Engineer

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Diverter Damper Engineer

Job Summary:

A Diverter Damper Engineer (Fresher Level) is typically a junior engineering role focused on the design, analysis, installation, and maintenance of diverter dampers in industrial systems, often related to power plants, HVAC systems, or large-scale industrial equipment. Diverter dampers are used to control the flow of gases, air, or fluids within pipes or ducts, and they are crucial in processes such as emission control, airflow regulation, and system balancing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development:

    • Assist in the design of diverter dampers, considering parameters like material selection, pressure, temperature, and system compatibility.
    • Collaborate with senior engineers to refine existing designs and create custom solutions for clients.
    • Work on 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
  2. Testing and Quality Control:

    • Participate in testing diverter dampers to ensure functionality, efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
    • Analyze test results and assist in troubleshooting issues to improve product performance.
  3. Installation and Commissioning Support:

    • Assist in the installation of diverter dampers in various systems, ensuring proper setup and operation.
    • Support field engineers during the commissioning of dampers in industrial environments.
  4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

    • Provide technical support in the maintenance of diverter damper systems to ensure their continuous optimal performance.
    • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues and recommend solutions.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare technical documentation including design calculations, system specifications, and test reports.
    • Maintain records of designs, tests, and system performance for future reference.
  6. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers.
    • Participate in client meetings to understand requirements and provide engineering solutions.

Key Focus Areas:

Field Instrumentation: Assist in maintaining and calibrating field devices for accurate process control.

Troubleshooting: Learn basic fault diagnosis and support the resolution of issues in instrumentation systems.

Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and participate in training programs to ensure workplace safety.

Skill Development: Gain technical knowledge and experience in oil and gas field operations.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering concepts.
    • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for 3D modeling and design.
    • Understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of industrial dampers, valves, and HVAC systems is beneficial but not required.
  • Internship experience in a similar field may be an advantage.
