The Director of Project Engineering – Turbine Systems is responsible for the end-to-end engineering leadership and technical execution of turbine-related projects, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and associated mechanical and control systems. The role involves oversight of multidisciplinary engineering teams, coordination with clients and vendors, and ensuring delivery of complex projects on time, within budget, and to required technical standards.
Lead and manage the complete engineering lifecycle for turbine system projects – from proposal and design through to commissioning and handover.
Provide technical leadership for all mechanical and rotating equipment scopes including turbines, generators, auxiliaries, and balance of plant (BOP) systems.
Ensure engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, drawings, BOMs) meet all project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee review and approval of OEM turbine design documents and interface packages.
Coordinate with project managers, procurement, construction, commissioning, and clients to align engineering deliverables with overall project timelines and goals.
Resolve technical issues, manage changes, and provide engineering support across disciplines.
Manage technical interfaces and collaboration with turbine OEMs and key equipment vendors for scope definition, design reviews, and factory acceptance tests (FATs).
Ensure all equipment meets performance, reliability, and safety criteria before delivery.
Enforce adherence to relevant industry standards (API, ASME, IEC, ISO, NFPA) and project specifications.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) policies.
Collaborate with project management to track engineering budgets, change orders, and schedule adherence.
Identify engineering risks and propose mitigation strategies during project planning and execution.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems specialists.
