We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director of Mechanical Maintenance – Boiler Systems to lead the mechanical integrity, maintenance strategy, and performance optimization of boiler and auxiliary systems within a large-scale power plant. This executive-level position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical maintenance related to high-pressure boilers, ensuring operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective maintenance practices.
Develop and execute long-term mechanical maintenance strategies for steam generators, boiler auxiliaries (e.g., feedwater systems, economizers, superheaters), and high-energy piping.
Establish maintenance KPIs and ensure alignment with plant performance goals including uptime, reliability, safety, and cost control.
Lead root cause analysis, failure investigation, and continuous improvement programs to enhance equipment performance and longevity.
Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all boiler-related mechanical assets.
Implement advanced diagnostic tools such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic thickness testing, thermal imaging, and wear monitoring to proactively identify potential failures.
Ensure timely execution of overhauls, shutdowns, and turnaround projects with minimal disruption to plant operations.
Ensure all boiler maintenance activities comply with applicable regulations, standards, and codes including ASME Section I, NBIC, API, OSHA, and local jurisdictional requirements.
Manage inspection and certification cycles for pressure vessels, safety valves, and piping systems.
Coordinate third-party inspections, insurance surveys, and risk assessments.
Lead and mentor a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, and skilled trades personnel.
Oversee skill development, training programs, and succession planning for mechanical maintenance staff.
Foster a proactive, safety-first culture throughout the maintenance team.
Develop and manage maintenance budgets, procurement plans, and contract negotiations for spare parts, tools, and maintenance services.
Drive cost-effective decision-making while ensuring high-quality maintenance execution and material reliability.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to support plant-wide asset management goals.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Power Engineering (Master’s preferred)
First-Class Boiler Engineer Certificate or equivalent (preferred)
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certifications a strong advantage
Certifications (Preferred):
ASME, NBIC, API, or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
OSHA 30, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
Experience:
12–15+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance of boiler systems within power plants or heavy industrial environments
Proven leadership in managing large mechanical teams, major overhauls, and long-term maintenance plans
Extensive knowledge of high-pressure boiler systems, piping integrity, and auxiliary mechanical systems
Skills:
Deep understanding of mechanical maintenance methods, steam system dynamics, and failure modes
Proficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools (e.g., SAP, Maximo)
Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities
Ability to collaborate across departments and influence plant-wide reliability strategies
