The Director of Engineering Services – HVAC and Climate Control leads all post-engineering, technical support, and field service activities associated with the operation, commissioning, maintenance, and performance optimization of HVAC and climate control systems. This role ensures customer satisfaction through expert service delivery, oversees lifecycle support, and bridges the gap between engineering design and real-world system performance.
Lead and manage the Engineering Services team responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, performance tuning, retrofit planning, and technical support for HVAC and climate control systems.
Oversee the deployment and commissioning of new HVAC systems across commercial, marine, offshore, or defense platforms.
Serve as the technical authority on system diagnostics, root cause analysis, upgrades, and long-term service solutions.
Develop and implement service strategies, including preventive maintenance programs, field service operations, and emergency support protocols.
Collaborate with engineering design and R&D to ensure feedback from service activities informs future designs and product improvements.
Establish technical training programs for internal staff and external clients on HVAC system operation, safety, and troubleshooting.
Monitor KPIs such as system uptime, service turnaround, and customer satisfaction; drive improvements accordingly.
Ensure all field and service operations are performed in accordance with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IMO, MARPOL, OSHA, ISO).
Manage field engineering documentation including service manuals, commissioning reports, and system health audits.
Coordinate with supply chain and logistics for spare parts, retrofits, and service toolkits.
Provide high-level technical consultation to sales, project management, and customer support teams.

Ensure on-site technical services meet quality, time, and cost objectives across all supported platforms.
System Performance & Reliability
Oversee performance optimization and lifecycle support strategies for high-efficiency HVAC and climate control systems.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Lead expert resolution of complex field issues, integrating customer feedback into engineering improvements.
Team Development & Training
Develop a skilled service workforce through internal training, technical mentorship, and certification support.
Customer Satisfaction & Continuous Improvement
Build strong customer relationships through responsive support and value-added technical solutions.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in HVAC system engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role in service, commissioning, or operations.
Strong technical knowledge of commercial, industrial, or marine HVAC systems, including controls, VFDs, refrigerants, ventilation, and chiller systems.
Experience managing field teams across regional or global service operations.
Familiarity with international HVAC codes and standards (ASHRAE, ISO 9001, IMO/MARPOL, etc.).
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, control logic, and system schematics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage budgets, service contracts, and KPIs in a fast-paced technical environment.
Experience in marine, offshore, defense, or critical infrastructure HVAC projects.
Working knowledge of HVAC BMS, PLCs, SCADA systems, and data-driven performance diagnostics.
Certified in PMP, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
