We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Boiler Engineering to lead the technical oversight, compliance assurance, and performance optimization of boiler systems across a power generation facility. This senior leadership role is responsible for directing a team of engineers and technicians, driving reliability, efficiency, and safety of high-pressure steam systems, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and corporate standards.
Lead the development and execution of the boiler asset management program, including preventive and predictive maintenance, lifecycle planning, and modernization strategies.
Define technical standards and operational procedures for high-pressure steam boilers, HRSGs, and auxiliary systems (e.g., feedwater heaters, deaerators, economizers).
Collaborate with plant leadership to align boiler engineering efforts with production goals, emissions targets, and long-term asset strategy.
Oversee design reviews, system upgrades, and root cause failure analyses for boiler and combustion equipment.
Direct thermal efficiency improvement projects, combustion optimization initiatives, and water treatment control strategies.
Ensure engineering calculations, code compliance, material selections, and pressure part designs meet ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional requirements.
Ensure full compliance with applicable codes and regulations (e.g., ASME Section I, NBIC, OSHA, EPA, local pressure vessel laws).
Lead the inspection and certification processes including internal/external audits, third-party inspections, and insurance reviews.
Serve as primary liaison with regulatory bodies, boiler inspection agencies, and safety authorities.
Build and lead a high-performing team of boiler engineers, reliability specialists, and technicians.
Drive technical training and development initiatives for operations and maintenance teams focused on steam generation systems.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safe work practices.
Provide technical leadership on capital and retrofit projects involving boiler installations, upgrades, and controls integration.
Develop and manage the boiler engineering budget, including capital planning, O&M costs, and vendor/contractor oversight.
Support procurement of boiler systems, spares, and service contracts in coordination with supply chain teams.
Lead and manage all technical aspects of boiler systems and high-pressure steam generation
Ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of boiler operations
Develop long-term strategies for asset performance, emissions, and lifecycle management
Direct engineering design, inspections, and system improvements
Manage technical staff, vendor relationships, and project execution
