Job Title:Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Job Summary:

The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leads the development and execution of strategies to build an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued and empowered. This role partners with leadership, HR, and business units to integrate DEI into all aspects of the employee experience, from hiring and development to retention and advancement. The Director will champion equity, foster belonging, and ensure measurable progress toward creating a diverse and inclusive organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement organization-wide DEI programs, policies, and initiatives.

  • Serve as a thought leader and advisor to executive leadership on DEI best practices, trends, and innovations.

  • Analyze employee data and conduct DEI assessments to identify gaps, barriers, and opportunities for growth.

  • Develop DEI communication strategies to increase awareness and engagement across all levels of the organization.

  • Facilitate workshops and training for leaders, managers, and employees to embed DEI into daily operations.

  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to ensure DEI is integrated into talent lifecycle programs (e.g., onboarding, leadership development, performance management).

  • Establish DEI dashboards and KPIs to evaluate effectiveness and report results to stakeholders.

  • Manage DEI budgets, partnerships, and external consultants or vendors.

Key Focus Areas:

  • DEI Strategy Development: Define and implement a long-term strategy for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging aligned with organizational goals.

  • Inclusive Hiring: Collaborate with recruitment teams to implement inclusive sourcing, screening, and selection processes.

  • Training & Education: Develop training programs focused on unconscious bias, cultural competency, inclusive leadership, and allyship.

  • Equity Audits & Metrics: Conduct regular DEI audits, track key metrics, and report on progress against DEI goals.

  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Support and scale ERGs to foster connection, representation, and advocacy.

  • Policy & Culture Alignment: Review workplace policies, practices, and benefits to promote fairness and equity.

  • Community Engagement: Build partnerships with external DEI organizations, universities, and communities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Sociology, Organizational Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 10+ years of professional experience in human resources or organizational development, with at least 3–5 years in a dedicated DEI leadership role.

  • Proven success designing and leading DEI initiatives in medium-to-large or global organizations.

  • Deep understanding of systemic barriers, equity frameworks, and inclusive organizational change.

  • Familiarity with HR analytics tools, employee engagement surveys, and diversity metrics.
