1. Technical and Operational Leadership

  • Oversee design and build processes for welded piping networks, pressure systems, and custom skid-mounted process units.

  • Ensure the integration of process, mechanical, electrical, and automation systems within modular skids.

  • Approve weld procedures (WPS/PQR), piping layouts, material specifications, and fabrication drawings.

2. Welding and Piping Standards Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, AWS D1.1/D1.6, GMP, and customer-specific requirements.

  • Oversee weld inspection, NDE (e.g., RT, PT, VT), pressure testing, and documentation control.

  • Maintain quality assurance systems aligned with ISO, FDA, or other regulatory frameworks.

3. Fabrication and Production Oversight

  • Lead the development and optimization of in-house and outsourced fabrication processes.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure schedule adherence.

  • Drive improvements in welding automation, orbital welding, and shop layout efficiency.

4. Project Management and Delivery

  • Support the execution of high-value capital projects from design through FAT and shipment.

  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and logistics to ensure on-time, in-spec delivery.

  • Review project status, risk management, and resource planning at an executive level.

5. Team Development and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and mentor teams including weld engineers, piping designers, QA/QC personnel, and fabrication supervisors.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous learning in welding and fabrication techniques.

  • Coordinate with engineering, automation, and QA departments for integrated system delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 10–15+ years of experience in piping and skid fabrication, welding engineering, and modular system integration.

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), PMP, or ASME Authorized Inspector experience preferred.

  • Deep knowledge of ASME, AWS, B31.3, GMP, and related industry codes and fabrication best practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in hygienic/clean piping systems for pharma, biotech, or food and beverage industries.

  • CAD/PDM experience (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Plant 3D).

  • Familiarity with orbital welding, sanitary tubing, and modular automation integration.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client interface skills.
