The Director – Valve Engineering & Design leads the end-to-end engineering design and development of industrial valve products across global markets. This role is responsible for the technical oversight, innovation, and engineering governance of valve systems including ball, gate, globe, check, butterfly, and specialty valves. The Director ensures robust product design, regulatory compliance, manufacturability, and collaboration across cross-functional teams from R&D through production.
Lead the valve engineering team in the design, analysis, and documentation of new and existing products.
Establish engineering standards, design guidelines, and validation protocols to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.
Approve and oversee technical reviews, FMEAs, tolerance analysis, and design-for-manufacture (DFM) activities.
Direct new product development (NPD) initiatives in coordination with product management, manufacturing, and supply chain.
Integrate advanced materials, sealing technologies, and actuation options into new designs.
Promote innovation in flow control, pressure containment, and valve automation to meet emerging industry needs.
Partner with operations, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure seamless design handoff, cost efficiency, and product quality.
Support testing, certification, and compliance efforts across internal and external validation bodies (API, ASME, PED, ISO, CE).
Collaborate with commercial and application engineering teams to align product capabilities with market requirements.
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing global valve engineering team.
Foster technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and career development through structured training and mentorship.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required)
Master’s degree in Engineering Design, Product Development, or MBA (preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent is a plus
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (API 6D/600/607, ASME B16.34, ISO, PED, CE)
10–15+ years of experience in valve or mechanical product design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong background in industrial, oil & gas, chemical, or water valve applications
Demonstrated success in developing and commercializing valve products globally
Expertise in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.), FEA, and GD&T
Deep knowledge of pressure vessel design, flow dynamics, sealing systems, and metallurgy
Understanding of manufacturing processes: casting, machining, welding, and assembly
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
