The Director โ Reliability Engineering (Valves and Rotating Equipment) is responsible for overseeing the performance, integrity, and availability of all critical mechanical assets, with a specific focus on valves, pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating or pressure-containing components. This leader drives predictive maintenance programs, asset health strategies, and system-wide reliability improvement across multiple plants or production sites.
Lead the enterprise-wide reliability engineering strategy for mechanical assets, including all valves and rotating equipment
Develop and implement Asset Reliability Programs (ARP) aligned with ISO 55000 and corporate objectives
Set policies for lifecycle optimization, uptime improvement, and performance benchmarking
Champion the use of RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and FMEA to identify critical failure modes
Oversee the implementation of PdM (Predictive Maintenance) technologies like vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic, and thermography
Drive MTBF and OEE improvements across plants; lead corrective action plans for chronic failures
Provide technical leadership on all valve types (control, relief, isolation) and rotating machinery (centrifugal, reciprocating, axial, screw)
Guide valve selection, actuation systems, seal design, and maintenance practices
Collaborate with mechanical engineers on design improvements and failure prevention
Oversee condition monitoring programs and the reliability database (PI, SAP PM, APM, etc.)
Analyze asset health data to identify degradation trends and optimization opportunities
Generate reliability dashboards, heat maps, and bad actor reports for continuous improvement
Lead mechanical reliability planning for major shutdowns, overhauls, and turnarounds
Validate valve reconditioning strategies and rotating equipment refurbishment
Approve commissioning protocols and FATs for new or refurbished assets
Establish and maintain mechanical reliability standards, SOPs, and inspection test plans (ITPs)
Ensure compliance with API 610/617/579/598, ASME BPVC, OEM specs, and safety regulations
Lead internal audits and RCA workshops for high-impact equipment failures
Manage a team of reliability engineers, inspectors, and maintenance analysts
Deliver training to operations and maintenance personnel on reliability principles and best practices
Work closely with operations, HSE, and procurement teams to support uptime goals and asset investments
โ Reliability improvement of valves, pumps, compressors, and other rotating machinery
