The Director – Product Development (Valves) leads the strategy, design, and execution of new valve product innovations, ensuring alignment with market demands, regulatory requirements, and corporate objectives. This role drives the entire product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization, collaborating closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to deliver competitive, reliable, and cost-effective valve solutions.
Define and execute the valve product development roadmap in alignment with business goals and customer needs.
Analyze market trends, competitive offerings, and technology advancements to identify growth opportunities.
Prioritize product initiatives and manage resources to maximize portfolio value.
Oversee the complete NPD process, including concept generation, design, prototyping, testing, certification, and launch.
Implement stage-gate processes and rigorous design controls to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to optimize product designs for cost, quality, and manufacturability.
Work closely with marketing, sales, and application engineering teams to translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
Partner with supply chain and quality teams to support supplier development and compliance.
Ensure regulatory compliance with relevant standards (API, ASME, ISO, PED, CE).
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary product development team of engineers and technical professionals.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (required)
Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)
PMP, Six Sigma, or related project management certification is a plus
Familiarity with valve industry standards such as API 6D, ASME B16.34, ISO 9001, PED
10+ years in valve product development or engineered product development roles
5+ years in a leadership or management capacity, overseeing product development teams
Proven track record of launching successful valve products and driving innovation
Deep understanding of valve design principles, flow control, and actuation technologies
Experience with CAD tools, prototyping, and testing methodologies
Strong project management, financial acumen, and business-oriented mindset
