The Director – Plant Utilities & HVAC Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, and optimization of all utility systems and HVAC equipment within water and wastewater treatment plants. This leadership role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and safety of critical plant utility services—including steam, compressed air, chilled water, and HVAC systems—supporting uninterrupted plant operations and compliance with regulatory standards.
Direct daily operations and maintenance of plant utility systems and HVAC equipment.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize utility and HVAC performance, minimize downtime, and reduce energy consumption.
Ensure all systems operate in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for utilities and HVAC systems.
Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for system failures.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and lifecycle management.
Plan and manage capital projects related to utilities and HVAC system upgrades or expansions.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Lead, coach, and develop operations and maintenance teams supporting utilities and HVAC.
Foster a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to plant safety protocols and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align utilities operations with overall plant goals.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records, prepare reports for senior management.
Support audits and inspections by regulatory authorities.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (required)
Advanced certifications in HVAC or utilities operations preferred
Experience:
12+ years in utilities and HVAC operations, preferably in water/wastewater treatment or industrial facilities
Proven leadership managing large operational teams and capital projects
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, compressed air, steam systems, and regulatory compliance
